Moore Questline - Elden Ring Guide - IGN (2024)

Moore is one of the new NPCs you’ll encounter in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree who has a questline that runs alongside the main story. Not only can he find important items for other characters and seemingly lives to serve Leda and her allies, but Moore also acts as a Merchant, allowing you to purchase items from him. To complete his side quest, here’s everything you need to know from where to find him, to the choices you’ll face, and the outcomes of those decisions.

Where to Find Moore in Gravesite Plain

Head for Miquella’s Cross in the west towards Belurat, Tower Settlement and you’ll find Moore kitted out in heavy armor sitting near Ansbach holding a pot. This is the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace. Talk to him, and the timid Moore will become available as a Merchant.

He offers many useful items from Rune Arcs, to arrows and crafting items, but also has a note called Sealed Spiritsprings for 1,000 Runes. Once you’ve purchased something from him, the option to “Talk to Moore” will become available.

In this conversation, he’ll tell you that he enjoys finding things for people - especially Lady Leda and the Forager brood, but will also find things for you. Moore offers little at this point, but if you rest up at the Site of Grace, you can converse with Ansbach about him now that you’ve had this initial exchange.

Return to Ansbach and ask him about the “person in the verdigris armor.” Ansbach will give you additional lore about Moore and also request that you’re polite to the forager brood, should you encounter them on your travels.

Find and Speak to Thiollier

After speaking to Thiollier, go back to Moore. The option to talk to him will appear once again, and he will give you Black Syrup that Thiollier asked for. Opening the information menus reveals little about it, except that it’s something that Moore asks to be taken to Thiollier.

After the Breaking of the Great Rune

When you approach Shadow Keep, you’ll hear a loud noise and a notification will appear telling you that somewhere, a great rune has broken and along with it, a spell. This is when things will start to change drastically for the NPCs.

Return to Moore and he’ll tell you it’s broken and that Miquella’s light is gone. He becomes confused about what to do and asks what the abandoned children should do. He asks “must we be sad forever?”

You can choose:

• Put it behind you
• Remain sad forever
• I don’t know

Choose Put it Behind You

He says that maybe Miquella’s love is love for all the unloved and love to banish the pain. After this, he will move on from the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace. If you pick this option, you'll see Moore again later on in the game.

Choose Remain Sad Forever

If you choose this, Moore will lament being sad forever. He’ll simply say "sad, forever. Sad, forever and ever". If you rest at the Site of Grace and return to talk to him, he’ll just keep repeating this phrase. When you move to another area, Moore will move on from this Site of Grace.

Choose I Don’t Know

Moore will tell you that he doesn’t know either or how to be. This will also allow you to go back into the conversation and choose one of the other options. This can be your final choice, however, if you continue with the events of the game and don’t give him a definitive answer. Moore will not move from the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace if you choose this option.

Final Encounter with Moore

If you told Moore to put it behind him, you'll see him again as an opponent in the fight against Tap to Reveal.

Once the fight is over, you can find Moore's body in the arena, and pick up the following items from him:

• Moore’s Bell Bearing
• Verdigris Greatshield
• Verdigris Helm
• Verdigris Armor
• Verdigris Gauntlets
• Verdigris Greaves
